Hoffman Industrial offers heavy hauling services to our customers when they need to relocate industrial equipment, be it one piece or an entire shop.
GE needed to relocate its entire Schenectady, NY plant to Owensboro, KY. The project took a full year – Hoffman coordinated a complete machine shop shut down, then rigged the machines out, loaded them all on trucks, hauled all of the equipment to Owensboro, and provided the skilled personnel to unload and rig the machines into place. The timeline for the actual move was tight, as GE needed the machines from the Schenectady plant up and running again as quickly as possible – Hoffman not only handled the entire move, but also helped minimize GE's down time . Hoffman assists customers who need industrial equipment moved internationally.A Korean customer purchased an American-made 3,500-ton United Press and needed to have it transported from the US to Korea. The press weighed 520,000 pounds and its feeding manipulator weighed 600,000 pounds. Over several months, Hoffman managed multiple crews of subcontractors to dismantle the press. The crew packed some smaller parts in containers, while the remaining larger parts were loaded and transported by super trailers and rail cars to the port. Hoffman Industrial provides expert project management. When a New York power facility needed to double their coal handling capacity from 600 to 1,200 tons per hour, they hired Hoffman Industrial to oversee the upgrade and install new equipment. In addition to their own crews, Hoffman expertly managed over 30 union workers from New York and completed the job within the customer’s tight schedule.
